Surface Event Tease

Will you answer the call? It certainly seems that the stars are aligning for what’s next for the hardware and software carrying the Microsoft logo.

That’s because, alongside confirming that Windows 11 will be here on October 5, the technology giant has also confirmed plans to hold a Surface event a couple of weeks before that — September 22 to be exact.

The company announced this in a mysterious little tweet, with the invite mentioning nothing other than the verbiage “Join us to see what’s next”, along with the image of a Surface Pro model.

The link takes us to the company’s website that reveal the date and time. The event is apparently a virtual affair, as is the norm nowadays, and is slated to be streamed at 11 AM Eastern Time.

Some extra details sure would have been useful here!

But then again, the community has got us covered. The past few weeks have provided us with a lot of intelligence on what the hardware wizards over at Redmond have been working on for launch later this year.

We might get a redesigned Surface Pro that might be called the Surface Pro 8 if we go by the usual naming tend. The current design of the premium tablet dates back to the Pro 4 all the way back in 2015, so we are definitely due a refresh.

In addition to this, the company might also have a new Surface Book model in store.

A Surface Go 3, even.

The firm might also show off the Surface Duo 2, a device that has already begun showing up on benchmarks and renders. Leaked information hints that the company might pack in a few meaningful upgrades in the form of a triple camera array and a Snapdragon 888 chipset with 5G support.

Some surprises like a Surface Laptop, or a Surface Studio refresh might also be welcome, though there is little chance of that happening.

Along with these product launches, Microsoft might devote time to talk about the looming Windows 11 launch. Almost all these new devices are sure to launch with the latest operating system, so why not.
