At your service! Last week, Intel rolled out a new graphic driver with official support for Windows 11. And now, NVIDIA has done the same, publishing GPU drivers for the upcoming OS.
While regular folks will have to wait until October at least to get their hands on the new operating system, Insiders are already busy putting it through its paces. And to help with the testing, hardware makers are bringing forth their newly compiled firmware.
These drivers from Intel and NVIDIA improve the overall performance of Windows 11, making them a necessity to fully gauge where the OS stands.
And as NVIDIA lets know in a forum post, it has published GeForce driver version 471.41 with WDDM 3.0 and Windows 11 support:
“With NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver/Studio Driver branch release 470, we are introducing support for Microsoft Windows 11.”
According to the chip giant, this new driver is ready for the new operating system and Insiders are recommended to use it on their preview Windows 11 installations.
In addition to support for the new OS, the driver update improves support for RTX enhanced games, including titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Chernobylite. NVIDIA has also added support for new gaming monitors, as well as GeForce Experience Optimal Playable Setting profile.
Worth a mention that although NVIDIA driver 471.41 is supposed to improve support for Windows 11, some users found that their device switched from 10-bit to 8-bit after applying the driver update.
Still, it is probably a good idea to deploy these if you are rocking Windows 11 preview builds.
To install these NVIDIA drivers, you need to launch GeForce Experience, click the Drivers tab and start the download when prompted.
