Dell all ready for Windows 11

With launch day set in stone, things are moving fast for Windows 11. Not only is Microsoft taking the necessary steps to prepare for the release, hardware manufacturers are also in a scramble.

An OS launch is no mean feat, after all.

Which is why Dell is now all ready to jump into the Windows 11 action. One of the biggest hardware vendors on the planet has not only confirmed plans for the operating system, but also validated that most of its PCs sold its ecommerce website will be able to run the new OS when it launches.

This is what the company said in a press release:

“Customers who buy an eligible Windows-based PC on Dell.com will now be offered a free upgrade to Windows 11 when it’s available. This includes the Dell XPS 13, Alienware x15, Alienware x17 gaming laptops, and more.”

Sounds good.

What sounds even better is that Dell is working on a tool that will help its users get Windows 11 through the free upgrade process. Consumers and commercial clients both should be able to use that little piece of software to deploy the new operating system on their machines.

At the same time, the company has shared a long list of devices in a support document that are officially eligible for the free Windows 11 upgrade.

These include pretty much everything the company has to offer:

  • Alienware Desktop
  • Alienware Laptop
  • G-Series Desktop
  • G-Series Laptop
  • Inspiron Desktop
  • Inspiron Laptop
  • XPS Desktop
  • XPS Laptop
  • Vostro Desktop
  • Vostro Laptop
  • Latitude
  • OptiPlex
  • Precision Workstation
  • Mobile Precision

As of August 31, Dell has over 100 devices listed on its support page.
