Edge 97 comes packing PDF and password improvements

Edge Dev Channel

The Dev channel of the Edge Insider Program has made the jump to version 97, with a new build that arrives with a selection of improvements centered around PDF and password management.

Edge 97 is now available in its first build form as 97.0.1060.2.

Redmond has made great strides in making sure its web browser stands out from the competition when it comes to feature set and available options. And this latest release is no different as it improves upon a number of areas.

Microsoft Edge, of course, is the default PDF reader on Windows 10 and Windows 11. And this new build takes the viewing and markup experience up a notch. Also improved are the password management capabilities of the web browser.

For starters, you now have the ability to draw arbitrary highlights on PDFs. Also included, is an option to print even or odd pages.

Developers have added combined autofill and password generation on account signup websites that allow you to create new website accounts in a single click. Combined personal info and payment info autofill is also available on certain shopping websites to apply coupons and enable single-click checkout.

And Edge will also update passwords by default by adding a button to the leaked passwords Settings page that goes directly to the password update page of the websites.

There are also a bunch of new features that are added in for developers and management policies.

As usual, this new build also brings a couple of bug fixes, and you can learn more details on this page.

And while Edge 97 lands in the Dev channel this week, Edge 96 has also made its way to the Beta channel and is destined to reach the Stable channel at the end of the month.
