Edge now rewards you with Microsoft Rewards notifications

Edge Dev Channel

Microsoft not too long ago released a new Edge build in the Dev channel of its preview program, giving early testers a chance to take some new features in the browser for a test drive.

These improvements will soon make their way to the stable channel after approval from Insiders.

Edge 104.0.1287.1, as the company notes, comes with several improvements for older features, reliability enhancements, and the usual splattering of bug fixes. But there are three main additions in this new release.

The first of these important new abilities is an alert feature that displays a notification that is displayed when your Microsoft Rewards points increase. These certainly come in handy, given the fact that Rewards is an important part of the experience with Edge.

That said, the Microsoft Rewards program still continues to be limited to just a handful of countries, so not all users will benefit from this new addition.

They will, however, find this next feature useful — provided they own an Android device. That’s because Microsoft has added an option to provide translation information with feedback on the mobile operating system.

And finally, a new Dev build will not be worth its salt if it does not come with fresh policy settings. This one includes a new policy to manage mini menu settings.

As far as the fixes and additional tweaks are concerned, there are a handful of these here.

Starting with improved accessibility for screen readers with changes for narrator announcement. There is also the ability to return to the new tab page news feed after opening an article by pressing the back button. Also included, are fixes for crashes.

For some reason, Microsoft did not provide a list of known issues for this new release.

The software titan plans to release Edge 104 in the Beta channel during the week of June 28, 2022. And the update is slated for arrival in the Stable channel during the week of August 4, 2022.
