Refreshed Surface Go 3 packs a punch

Surface Go 3

The newest addition to the budget friendly side of the Surface family is now official. Microsoft has announced the Surface Go 3, a device that comes with new Intel processors.

More specifically, with an Intel i3 chip.

The newly refreshed model takes its design inspiration from the old Surface Go 3 that it supersedes, and features a 10.5-inch touch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1280 and an aspect ratio of 3:2.

But the real magic happens inside, with the device now coming with an Intel Core i3 processor that Microsoft claims offers some 60% extra power. Two configuration options are available — either the Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y or Core i3-10100Y.

This makes the Surface Go 3 one of the best budget 2-in-1 devices on the market right now.

It will ship with Windows 11, though Redmond will also be offering commercial variants of the Surface Go 3 that will come with Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro.

The Surface Go 3 also features Windows Hello for facial recognition, and the device also offers support for the Surface Pen, which is not included in the box. Microsoft claims that the Surface Go 3 is able to last a day on battery, though the company did not provide an actual number.

Users will also have an option to buy Surface Go 3 with LTE, though this variant is not available at the moment.

The Surface Go 3 is up for preorder today in select markets, with prices starting at $399.99. No word on when the device will start shipping.
