Windows 11 Float

While Microsoft is customarily quiet on how the development Windows 11 22H2, there is buzz among the bees regarding how the latest version of the operating system is coming along.

And that buzz is growing louder.

We heard at the start of May that this version of the OS could be finalized by this month, and this was followed up by another report that the recently released build 22621 could, in fact, be the candidate that Redmond has an eye for to mark as the RTM version.

And now, famed leakster and Microsoft watcher WalkingCat has revealed that we are just a few days off from the momentous event.

The date for Windows 11 22H2 RTM version has been set as May 24. This is when the company will be signing off this version of the OS internally, also going by the codename of Sun Valley 2.

There you go!

Bear in mind that this is just the finalization of the RTM version, also known as Release to Manufacturing. It is simply a process of signing off a build of Windows 11 that is highly polished and optimized, ready to be handed off to hardware manufacturers to deploy on their new devices.

The general availability of Windows 11 22H2 is rumored to be quite a while away still, with most voices pointing to arrival sometimes within the September to November timeframe.

There is one notable point to ponder here.

Keener eyes among you may have noticed May 24 as being the date when the Microsoft BUILD 2022 conference commences. This three-day event is where Microsoft unveils its latest developer tools, technologies, and updates for various software products.

So, this could well be a case where two major events go off in a single day.

Wouldn’t mind that!
